NATURE + LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY ROLF ANDERSON Conservationist, Educator and Photographer Rolf Anderson is best known for his photos of the Hazen's Notch - Jay Peak Area in the Northern Vermont town of Montgomery where he lives with his wife Sharon Anderson. As a photographer Rolf Anderson is primarily associated with the Hazen's Notch Association. His photos have been used extensively by the Hazen's Notch Association to support their work in environmental education, recreational, stewardship, research and as a conservation land trust. Rolf also provides images to a variety of other non-profits including the Trout River Network, Montgomery Community Gardens, Vermont Nature News, and Vermont Outside. Rolf also provides images to the Green Mountain Club [GMC]. Rolf was President of the GMC from 1997-2000 and co-founded the northernmost chapter of the Green Mountain Club - GMC Northern Frontier in 2000. Rolf Anderson grew up in Woodbury, Connecticut in Litchfield County. He was introduced to photography by his father, the composer Leroy Anderson. Rolf has used his experience as a mountaineering instructor and mountain guide to photograph New Hampshire's White Mountains, New York's Adirondacks, and Wyoming's Teton Mountains as well as his home in Vermont's Green Mountains. He gained valuable experience while working at the Mount Washington Observatory in New Hampshire. Living and working in Belgium and Germany - teaching rock climbing and skiing in Germany and Switzerland - gave him many opportunities to create images depicting some of Europe's most beautiful places. In addition to photography Rolf enjoys teaching French and conducts classes for beginning and intermediate speakers, from pre-school children and their parents through elementary and middle school students, as well as adults. Rolf Anderson displays his photo art at numerous galleries in northern Vermont.
